Public speaking is taught by Mrs. Alyssa, the class is about learning to speak in front of an audience, with some simple rules to follow. PVLEGS is the rules we follow in the class. They stand for: Poise, voice, life, eye contact, gestures, speed, and smile. We then are assigned to either do or write about. For example in the first semester the eighth graders wrote about something that made people want to vote for you, so someone wrote about something personal and it compelled everyone to vote for them. They sympathized with the audience. The class helps with speaking in front of people if you have serious nervous tendencies by the time you end the class they will be better. In short the entire experience isn't at all bad.  It's hands on and fun!
